WHERE ONYX CAME FROM & WHY IT MATTERS.
No franchise fees. No direction from outside the province. Just a team of people invested in Southern Alberta, and committed to raising the standard of real estate here.
FOUNDED IN SOUTHERN ALBERTA
Onyx Realty was founded by Scott Lowater and Taya O'Donnell, with Stan Mills serving as Broker, three people who saw a gap in the Southern Alberta real estate market and decided to do something about it.
The idea was straightforward: build a brokerage that puts local knowledge, genuine collaboration, and high standards ahead of corporate structure and franchise mandates. A place where agents could build real careers, and where clients could trust they were working with people who actually knew and cared about their community.
That idea became Onyx Realty, a 100% locally owned and operated, proudly serving Lethbridge and all of Southern Alberta.
Today, Onyx is home to six established real estate teams and more than 45 agents. Our structure blends collaboration with individual entrepreneurship, creating an environment where agents are empowered to grow and clients receive exceptional, consistent service.
We are production-driven and results-focused, but never at the expense of relationships. We believe that strong communities are built through trust, professionalism, and a commitment to doing things right, every time.
